IUIH to invest Rs 1,000 crore for medicity in Lucknow

Indo UK Institute of Health (IUIH) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government for setting up an integrated medicity in the state. This initiative aims to deliver world-class healthcare to the people of the state. The MoU was signed during the UP investors’ summit that concluded on Thursday. According to Ajay Rajan Gupta, MD and group CEO of IUIH, the medicity in Lucknow will be developed at an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. It will have a 1,000-bed hospital and 20% patients will be offered free treatment at its facilities. The proposed medicity will also have a medical college, nursing college, PG academy, and training facility for allied health professionals. “The objective is to make every IUIH Medicity a medical tourism hub and attract the patient traffic from across the globe. NHS-standard healthcare at lower price points is our winning formula to tap the medical tourism business potential. This shall not just contribute to the exchequer but lead to overall development of the region too, in line with the government’s Smart Cities initiative,” Gupta said.
